The Sherwood Hills Resort and Spa located at 7877 S. Hwy 89-91 in Wellsville, Utah 84339 is a relatively new resort. What most people don’t know is that it actually replaced a much older hotel & manor. The old hotel & manor was not far from where Sherwood Hills now stands. Anyone who visits Sherwood Hills knows not to venture too far to the west of the grounds and into the forest. The following is the untold story of the old hotel and manor.
One upon a time back in 1896, there was a hotel & manor deep within the majestic mountains of Northern Utah. It was a beautiful place, visited my many people. Years ago, something terrible happened that caused things to go very wrong. In 1963, there was an unexplained event that shook the building down to the foundation. Only small, scattered sections of what use to be guest rooms and the manor area remain standing. The forest has since grown in and over the remains of what still stands. The forest has become very dark. Not even horses will enter this area of the forest. The scattered remains of a once beautiful resort are said to be inhabited by hideous things, strange unidentified animals and unexplained paranormal. Very few who have ventured into this section of the forest have returned to describe his or her experience. What was once a beautiful place to visit has come to be known over the years as “Dark Meadows Manor.”
